Alpha Tomatoes are a classic determinant standard variety that is excellent for growing in areas with unstable and cold climates. This super-early variety bears fruit successfully with a seedless sowing method (the fruits begin to ripen already 85 days after sowing!). When a few stepsons are removed from the lower part of the stem, it forms a strong, stable stem. Plant height - from 40 to 55 cm... Stems are straight, thick, covered with leafy blades, shaped like potato.
Tomato variety "Alpha" in the middle lane is grown in open ground, and in belts with a harsh climate - under light film shelters or in unheated greenhouses.
The Alpha tomatoes themselves are small, rounded, slightly flattened. The color of the fruit is bright red, the pulp is of moderate density, with few seed chambers (there are no more than 6 in one tomato), the weight of the average fruit is 55 g. Tomatoes of this variety are not intended for long-term storage and transportation.

Characteristics
The variety was produced by the Russian company Sedek, and was included in the State Register of Seed Crops in 2004. Absolutely all climatic zones are suitable for growing tomato Alpha, with the exception of the far north. In the southern regions, it begins to bear fruit at the beginning of summer, and in the northern regions - by mid-July.
When harvesting in a whole-fruited way, the fruits burst, therefore it is recommended to use them fresh, as well as for preparations in the form of sauces and salads. The fruits have also proven themselves well when used in cooking: as a dressing for soups, for example, or for roasting whole on the grill. Despite the compactness of the bushes, Alpha tomatoes are highly productive. Up to 6.5 kg of ripe lined sweet tomatoes can be harvested from a square meter of plantings.
You can compare this indicator with other varieties below:
Variety name | Yield |
Alpha | 6.5 kg per square meter |
Pink spam | 20-25 kg per square meter |
Pink Lady | 25 kg per square meter |
Red Guard | 3 kg per bush |
Explosion | 3 kg per bush |
Lazy | 15 kg per square meter |
Batianya | 6 kg per bush |
Golden jubilee | 15-20 kg per square meter |
Brown sugar | 6-7 kg per square meter |
Crystal | 9.5-12 kg per square meter |
There is practically no information about the shortcomings of the Alpha variety. This tomato is distinguished by a combination of unpretentiousness and high quality of small-sized fruits. Due to early fruiting and limited growth, he manages to fully return the crop before the period of mass destruction of plantings by late blight and other fungal diseases.

Agrotechnics
Alpha is an actively growing variety, therefore, for successful cultivation, it is necessary to select places with fertile soil, well-lit by the sun and without stagnant moisture. Alpha tomatoes do not need tying and regular pinching. After removing the side shoots on the lower part of the stem and forming a stem, you need to periodically loosen the soil around the bushes and slightly huddle the plants to form more roots.
It is recommended to feed the plants with mineral fertilizers (complexes for tomatoes or universal mixtures) according to the instructions.
Diseases and pests
The tomato is resistant to most viral and fungal diseases. Nevertheless, it needs preventive treatments with Bordeaux mixture or Fitosporin. When grown in open ground, only bears can damage the plant, and they are found only in regions with a warm climate.
In the greenhouse, only the whitefly damages the Alpha tomato. These insects can be fought with a standard set of drugs (Actellic and Thunder).
Tomato Alpha is a very profitable variety for growing. A minimum of agrotechnical measures, undemanding to heat and light make it attractive for cultivation in the most unfavorable areas for agriculture.
