Growing features
Like other early varieties, Khlebosolnye are sown for seedlings in the first half of March.
If you plan to land in open ground, sowing can be done in early April. A light soil is required from a mixture of garden soil, humus and sand.
For greater nutritional value, wood ash and a small portion of superphosphate are added to it. Sowing is carried out with a depth of 2 cm, the plantings are covered with a film and placed in heat.
After germination, the container with seedlings is exposed to bright light. Watering is moderate, from a watering can or a spray bottle. Seedlings need to be rotated so that they develop evenly. When 2 true leaves unfold, the tomatoes dive into separate pots.
Transplantation into the ground is carried out in late May-early June, plants can be planted in a greenhouse or greenhouse in the first half of May. The soil should be loose, 1 tbsp is laid out in each hole. spoonful of complex mineral fertilizers. For 1 sq. m you can knead 3-4 bushes.
Tomatoes planted in the ground are covered with foil in the first days. Grown plants are tied to a support. Convenient to use trellis, ideal for securing heavy branches.
To improve fruiting, it is recommended to pinch and form a bush in 1-2 stems. It is better to remove the lower leaves, and pinch the growth point. This stimulates the development of ovaries, the tomatoes are larger. During the season, plants are fed 3-4 times with full complex fertilizer... Watering is plentiful, but not frequent, about 1 time per week.
Pests and diseases
The variety is resistant to late blight, fusarium, tobacco mosaic and other typical diseases of nightshade in greenhouses.
Plants planted in the greenhouse must be protected from gray, white, root or apical rot. Regular airing, removal of lower leaves and weeds, mulching the soil with straw or humus will help. As a preventive measure, planting can be sprayed with phytosporin or a pale pink solution of potassium permanganate.
Outdoors, tomatoes are often attacked by aphids, whiteflies, or spider mites. You can remove aphids by washing the affected areas with a solution of water and laundry soap, insecticides will relieve the mite. Planting needs to be processed several times at intervals of 2-3 days. After the beginning of fruiting, toxic drugs cannot be used.
